Asheville food, beverage festivals not to miss in spring, summer 2022

ASHEVILLE – There’s a new appreciation for social outings after two years of canceled and altered events, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the warm weather months have arrived, many festivals are relaunching in person with their original and new formats and additions.

“We’re absolutely excited about the return of Chow Chow with three weekends of activity,” said Rebecca Lynch, executive director of Chow Chow, a festival that highlights Appalachian foodways and issues. “There’s opportunity to gather with us around the table for delicious food and important conversations all summer long.”

There are no shortages of food and beverage festivals in Asheville. And while it’s unlikely a person can attend every event, having a vast number of options isn’t a bad thing, said Katie Smith, board member of the Asheville Brewers Alliance, an organization presenting Asheville Beer Week.
