There is maybe only one thing nicer than eating out at a fancy restaurant – and that is eating out at a celebrity restaurant. We’re not talking about such places that the rich and famous like to frequent for meals.
No, it is the restaurants owned by celebrities chefs or cooks themselves. That way, you feel you’re almost guaranteed a plate of high-quality-food that made them famous in the first place. Surrey has a handful of these celebrity eateries, from Gordon Ramsay to MasterChef Professionals finalist Dave Wells, to visit if you haven’t already.
Everyman chef Jamie Oliver did have a restaurant in Guildford – Jamie’s Italian – before all its branches closed and it was replaced by a McDonald’s in 2020. It goes without saying, though, that if you go to one of the restaurants for some slap-up then you expect the place to be nice and clean, with no unhygienic hint in sight.

The scores are out of five and range from ‘very good’ to ‘urgent improvement is required’.
