The ‘ultra-modern’ restaurant has a dual-lane drive-thru facility with digital menu boards in both lanes.
KFC leads the fast food race in South Africa
With around 1 000 restaurants countrywide, KFC leads the race in Mzansi’s fast growing food industry which experienced a boom during Covid-19 times, especially the fast-food take away and delivery industry.
Speaking about the new store, Thuthuka Nxumalo, chief operations officer for KFC Africa, said the approach to new restaurants must shift to match a new era of customer experience defining the restaurant sector.
“The sum of this design puts the power of ordering and food fulfilment in the hands of the customer as well as gives employees an opportunity to focus on the back of house and getting food out quicker – this culminates in a superior customer experience,” Nxumalo said.
