White House townhome, retail development on 31W: What we know

A developer is moving forward on plans to build 113 townhomes with 11,000 square feet of commercial space in White House on Highway 31W.

What we know.

  • The site for the mixed-use development is on over 10 acres just south of the W.L. Anderson Sports Complex.
  • Beech Grove is the name that has gone through the approval process, but could change according to Jeremy and Christie Leggo, the husband and wife owners for the development company Highland Homes.
  • Two retail buildings are planned with five spaces each, though some could be combined according to user needs. Highland Homes will lease out the retail space.
  • The townhomes will be for sale. Units will be two- and three-bedroom and 2 ½ bathrooms, Jeremy Leggo said. Buildings will be 4, 5, 6 and 7 units each. Units will have garages. Prices for a townhome unit weren’t set. A dog park and pavilions will be among the amenities.
  • Hopes are to break ground in July and finish in around three years.
  • Highland Homes has also broken ground on a townhome project in Mt. Juliet that will have 60 units on the corner of Curd and Clemmons roads.
