Police are searching for a man accused of grabbing a 20-year-old woman from her SUV, and dragging her through a shopping center parking lot, Thursday night in High Point. Centennial St., near Eastchester Drive.The victim, a college student from Thomasville, told officers she was sitting in the driver’s seat of a white 2016 Honda CR-V when a Black man wearing a ski mask walked up to her vehicle. She told officers the man opened her door and pulled her out. The victim said the suspect then got into her vehicle and shut the door. The woman said she grabbed the door handle and held on to it as the suspect drove out of the parking lot. She suffered minor injuries during the ordeal.A family member of the woman said she was with two friends at the time of the incident.The friends were not in the vehicle, but police said one of the individuals grabbed the passenger side door as the suspect drove away and was dragged as well.The victim described the suspect as being between 18 to 25 years old; about 5 feet, 6 inches tall to 5 feet, 9 inches tall; and weighing about 165 to 175 pounds.As of Friday morning, the vehicle has not been located. The victim said she just bought the SUV a month ago, and had been saving for it since she was 16 years old.Police said the incident remains an ongoing investigation.Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers of High Point at 336-889-4000.
